Phoebe Toland creates multi layered relief prints and sculpture:

 

“I have been making relief prints since I was 11 years old.  It is a medium I love.  The prints in this show represent a year long intensive exploration of woodblock printmaking.  I have investigated the inherent potential of creating prints and altering them through collage and reconstruction.  Thus, the large pieces are unique and are layered in ways similar to my paintings.  Most of the works examine the interface between man and nature and our fragile coexistence.  I am grateful to the MT Arts Council for providing me an Innovation grant which encouraged me to create these works.”
